A heated public bench is installed at the bank of the Neckar river in the town of Wendlingen in Germany. The bench is electrically heated receiving its power from a nearby hydroelectric power plant. From the bench one can see a buoy in the Neckar river.

The buoy marks the furthest point that boats may travel in their river journey from the ocean. The buoy is placed near a waterfall that powers the hydroelectric plant and is used by small ships for docking purposes.

The power of water can be seen and heard at the waterfall and the heated public bench is a sensible use for hydro-electricity. The bench offers passers by and voyagers a warm place to sit even on the coldest of days.
